Well, that 'malaise' I seem to have has returned somewhat, so I've decided to take a day off sick. Even after about 10 hours sleep I'm still knackered. This is actually pretty unusual for me - I average about three sick days a year, all genuine. "Loss of balance" also seems to be a symptom, and that scores very badly of the list of sensible things to have when riding a motorbike to work! I think I shall spend today reading, watching The Discovery Channel, drinking tea, lying in bed and LJ'ing.
Oooh, Lost in Space is on FX289 at 10:00 :-)

Perhaps as you get older you can no longer spend all night playing with telescopes in dark fields. :) I know few people with such messed up sleep patterns as you; it surely contributes.

Getting up for the venus transit trashed my sleep patterns for the whole week - so maybe it is an age thing :-)

This is true. Even if I stay out late I don't usually sleep in that much the next morning. Lie-ins were always something I did when recovering from ethanol using sessions. Without that stimulous I just seem to wake up at something like 07:30, no matter what time I went to bed.

Possibly. But then I had a *huge* sleep last night, and at reasonable times (about 21:00 through to 06:30 this morning). I awoke completely naturally to sunlight and birds singing. I was able to get up and wander about for a bit with a mug of tea working out that my body really was still a bit broken.
I've a horrible feeling it's a viral thing - so I'll be like this for 2-3 weeks. Maybe one more to go then. I could try Bishopthorpe surgery, for an appointment in two weeks time, by which time I'll either have got better anyway or I'll be dead :-)
Generally, when I get up I *always* feel like shit. On several of my days off sick I've got up and actually gone to work. After about an hour and lots of coffee I realise it's not going to get any better so then I have to go home!

I don't necessarily believe that the human body is self-repairing but I don't need the lifestyle lectures ;)
