Tyla the Cat (1991-1993)
When we were in Hull it was our fortune to have a beautiful cat called Tyla living with us. He died too young, and there are few pictures of him. However, I've always meant to put them online as he was such a beautiful cat, and he loved the camera too. Anyway, there are a few nice pictures of him here.

Btw, sorry to miss out on telescope action again - we started playing my scary computer game and got rather involved in it!!

You didn't miss it. At 19:30 all was clear, and I decided on 20:30 as Jupiter was due to rise about then. Obviously, the gods of cloud sensed this and sent a nice thick layer across York at about 20:00, obscuring the heavens and leaving me stomping around looking grumpy. :-(

You would have got on with Tyla. He was a baaaad boy. He used to stay out late and come home with the milkman. He wandered off and got lost at one point and had to live by his wits. A nearby house had a pond with some fish in it. Tyla started to come home with wet paws and an evil look on his face. Soon there were no more fish. One day he took Grendel with him and he too came home with wet paws. At a party at my house once he would leap through the air to steal slices of pizza to eat. I found him once eating a sausage roll in the back garden. God knows where he had pinched that from!
When he died he was eventually replaced by Razzle, who also stays out all night and causes bother. On a morning, the two other cats arise after a good night's sleep and want their breakfast. Razzle is crashed out after just coming in. When I sweep the curtains open and sunlight fills the room he looks up with a pained look on his face ... "christ, man, what are you doing. I've had a heavy night. I've left you a mouse to eat by the back door."
