Saturday morning featured a school fair at the local infant school. This will be
evie_petrol's school in September. There was face painting (one of Evie's favourite things in the universe) and I also met the 'lucky' woman that will be teaching my daughter come September. Apparently, she's a bit strict. I hope she likes a challenge :-) I continued my life's habit of never, ever winning anything on a tombola.
Wendyhouse 10th Birthday was celebrated in style:

Thank you
mofette,
evil_girlie666 and
nigelmouse! :-)
Having use of a spare bed at
ayrton_nix's worked really well [thank you]. I got five hours of good sleep before returning to Bishopthorpe. I went back fairly swiftly as there was always the chance Trash had been up since something silly like 0600 with Evie, and I didn't want to abandon her. When I pulled onto the driveway Evie was still in her nightie. She hadn't woken up till around 0900! Trash had woken earlier and actually lain in bed reading a book for a while before Evie stirred...
On Sunday afternoon I managed to do something with Evie around I haven't managed in years: read a Sunday newspaper. Evie will now quite happily run around outside playing with her friends. So I just station myself in the front bay window [where I can keep an eye out for broken limbs/gushing blood/etc] with a mug of coffee and read away.
A day playing out in the sun clearly zonks Evie out too. She slept late this morning too. We eventually woke her at 0815 with her Barbie alarm clock as I have to say goodbye to her before I leave for work (she does get grumpy if Daddy goes to work without kissing her goodbye).
Long may sunny days continue!
