39-and-a-very-large-amount
I have broadband once more! We were reconnected last night. It was strange being without a continuous net connection at home. I found I could adjust to the lack of email/LJ/Facebook at home with no problems, but it was the ad hoc net use that caught me out. For example, you might think "when does that shop open - I'll check their web site! Er, no I won't." It was little casual queries that would catch me out. What is on at the cinema? Who was that guest star in that episode of NCIS? When does Lost restart?
My lovely friends at Games Night (
custancia,
greynolds,
smorgasbord and Paul [WINOLJ]) bought me a wonderful game to comfort me on my scary birthday. It's called Duel in the Dark, and is perfect for me. From the publisher's website: "World War 2 air combat game depicting the nighttime air raids of British bombers hitting German cities." It's set in WWII, has hexes and Germans. Perfect! :-) It has lovely heavy weight counters and clouds that sit on plastic stands at different levels. You can even play it solo, so I shall try that and sit quietly going "Achtung, Lancaster!"

Other Players - "Vin, I'm afraid you've lost you seem to have got all your co-ordinates wrong and done nothing but bomb France."
Vin - *maniacal glee*
