I'm trying hard to somehow frame a reply

Well, the Big Brother processing code for the Orange WAP site went live at about 16:00 this afternoon. It's been a loooooong couple of weeks, ever since I got back from Centerparcs. The RSS processing code is now live and in place, and the Big Brother news on OrangeWorld is direct from Channel 4. Next week is getting it on the Orange *web* site, at www.orange.co.uk, but that's less to do with me. I've bunged the content in the database and it's up to others to write the pointy-clicky front end malarkey. I can safely say this has been the hardest piece of shit-shovelling hacking I've done in a long time. I'm glad it's the weekend.

Tonight I really felt like using some ethanol to chill me out, particularly as I was going to watch England "play football" - always a stressful experience. Still, as it was just a friendly international I could see it would be little more than a kickabout, as it vaguely turned out to be. Fortunately, I have some dubious Polish vodka a contact at work runs across the border for me. It comes in a bottle the shape of a ship, so with some vermouth I now have vodka martinis. Hurrah for ethanol, and me being a carbon based lifeform that uses oxygen to power certain physiological reactions!

Thanks to gothgrr I'm now listening to loads of old Ultravox...

Ultravox ++good. I have lots of Ultravox but its on these strange CDs which are black, too big, and have wiggly groves on them... I have some which seem to have extra long tracks on too...

Heh - same here. I also had a tape compilation of their first three albums on it, which had Slow Motion on it. To get an MP3 of that I 'recorded' it using a line-in to get a digital copy!

Careful, using the words ethanol and carbon based life forms could bring the breast and spider related wrath of rosamicula down on you....and last I heard I was included in that punishment too ;-)
