First seen by me on [livejournal.com profile] gothgrr's LJ.

What was the last concert you attended?
Birthday Massacre/Screaming Banshee Aircrew at The Cockpit in Leeds on 2005-06-18.

How many people were there?
100?

What bands have you seen in concert the most, and how many times?
Probably SBA by now. There are a few others I've seen 'lots' of times: New Model Army, The Sisters of Mercy, The Alarm. Those bands have somewhat fanatical followings that I've never been part of. I only ever do 1-2 dates per tour and anniversary shows.

Do you have any set lists? From what bands?
No.

Are there any CDs in close proximity to you? Which ones?
There's a pile on my desk. Orange gets very shirty about us storing MP3s on our work machines, so a few 'dead tech' audio CDs have made it into work. Quite a few Rush albums ("Rush in Rio", "Test for Echo", "Counterparts", "Vapor Trails"), Apoptygma Berzerk - "You and Me Against the World", NIN - "Pretty Hate Machine", The Sisters of Mercy - "Vision Thing", Republica - "Republica", New Model Army - "Thunder and Consolation", Depeche Mode "The Singles 86>98".

I also have an extremely dubious copy of an album called "Go Figure" by some dodgy outfit called SSV-NSMABAAOTWMODAACOTIATW, which is here for curiosity value, rather than for actually listening to.

Plus a large heap of CD-R's full of MP3s... It's mostly vocal free bleepy shit, which I use to block out office noise when coding.

What band are you in the mood to see live right this second?
Rammstein! I've been reading about WW2 German tank commanders this morning, which has put me in the mood for mad Germans with flame throwers. Achtung! Panzer!

Have you ever been on a tour bus?
No.

Have you ever partied with a band?
Not really.

How many countries have you been to concerts in?
Three: UK, USA (saw Paul Di'Anno's Killers at The Whisky a Go Go in LA), Australia (saw a U2 tribute band, mostly by accident).

What bands did you see live the month of July?
The Birthday Massacre and SBA (so far). I'm hopefully going to Gotherham on Sunday so I'll see more there.

What CD are you addicted to at the moment?
Rotersand - "Welcome to Goodbye".

Who is one band that you used to like, but now you can't stand?
Metallica (they suck corporate cock). I can still listen to their early stuff, but they'll never get another penny of my money as long as I live.

Have you ever been on anyone's guest list?
Not that I recall. I used to get into a lot of gigs free as "press" back in the late 80s/early 90s, taking photoes for student newspapers and publicity purposes.

Last band person that you got a picture with?
Not my sort of thing.

Do you consider yourself a groupie?
Possible only for [livejournal.com profile] mister_ed :-)

If you were to name a boy and a girl after any band.... what would you name them?
What an odd idea. I don't think I would ever do that.

How old were you when you went to your first concert? Who was it?
Interesting... my parents used to put christian bands on locally where I grew up, and I used to go to those. So the idea of going to a venue and seeing a band play loud music was something I encountered quite young. I really can't remember who I first saw in this way - it's lost in the mists of time. I can fix one band (The Reps) in time and space, and that was when I was 14, so I was going to gigs before that.

The first mainstream, secular band with chart success I can clearly recall paying to see live was The Alarm, in early 1985, making me 17.

What bands haven't you seen yet that you want to see?
Apoptygma Berzerk - I seem to be fated to never see them. Whenever they're touring I've got something else happening when they're playing nearby.
Combichrist - I missed them at Infest.

Are you wearing a band shirt right now?
No.

What band do you own the most merch of?
*laughs* probably SBA: as of Tuesday night I now own *two* of their band t-shirts.

What song is on your myspace right now?
N/A.

Have you ever met that band?
N/A.

Do you ever do anything crazy at shows?
No.

What are your favorite venues to go to shows at?
Anywhere small and intimate. Generally, the bigger the venue, the less I like it. I've pretty much given up on outdoor festivals.
I have a soft spot for Rock City in Nottingham.
I was impressed by the MEN Arena in Manchester. As cavernous venues go, it was surprisingly good.

What band do you have the most performance pictures of?
I've taken quite a few pictures myself of The Alarm, The Little Angels and Screaming Banshee Aircrew.

Would you ever get a tattoo representing a band?
No.

How many concerts do you average a year?
10-20.

Upcoming shows?
Gotherham on Sunday. InFest in August. The Cruxshadows in November. XPQ-21 if any of their dates in October/November (when announced) are convenient.

List every band you've EVER seen live, no matter how obscure.

Ha ha ha...."

I'm not sure I can remember all the bands I've seen this year! How on earth is anyone meant to answer that question accurately ?

See you in sunny Rotherham on Sunday (assuming I can find the venue)...

Ha! Metallica.
I make a point of seeding torrents of their new stuff for as long as the leechers want it. If it's FLAC so much the better.
Lars == petulant whiny little bitch.
