Some of you at InFest may have heard me ranting about Trash and her love of Bon Jovi, and how every night for the last two weeks I got home to discover her playing one of her Bon Jovi CDs.
I have done her a disservice. This was not accidental...
What had happened was that just over two weeks ago I moaned about Bon Jovi. So she decided to get her revenge. Each evening she would play something else: classical music, the Three Legends Football phone in, whatever. She would have a Bon Jovi CD handy. Then, when she heard my motorbike engine on the driveway she would quickly change things to greet me with one of their annoying power ballads as I got in the door. Apparently, it was even exactly the same song every night, but I wasn't clever enough to notice that. Something like "I'll be the toast, you are my marmite" or similar.
She finally admitted this was all deliberate last night in a fit of laughter.
I salute her for such a well organised wind up!
Now, revenge... :-)

By which you mean all of them, of course. I love Bon Jovi's up-tempo stuff but I never had much time for the soupy slow numbers. I suppose that one of the reasons they produced so many is because a nasty ballad was the only way that a rock band could get into the charts in the late 80s and early 90s. But that's still no excuse! When I first heard Metallica's black album and discovered that they'd put a fucking ballad on that too I knew that the barbarians were at the gates...

Hmm, I think that we should start a movement to get post Bob (AO) Rock Metallica renamed to Plastica, or Polystyrenica. Some of it is alright, especially when compared to the current 3 chord American Punk nonsense, but it's all shockingly bad compared to the Real Stuff.
Actually, I was just listening to the 'Smell the Glove' album. Arse to that, on with the Slayer. Chemical Warfare, that's more like it.
Arse, it's so heavy it's just destroyed my desk.

I thought that the accepted name for it was Rockallica ;->

Oh you are a one! I think we should definitely call it that from now on though.
