Evie much better - phew!

I arrived this morning to find Trash and a nurse peering at Evie: they had just taken the cover off the oxygen tent. She seemed quite content in 20% oxygen, so she was moved out of the tent into the cot. She was then much happier, and she gave me the first grin I've seen off her in about five days. She's *much* better today. She's been grinning, gurgling, rolling over (again, something she hadn't done for days), playing with toys, etc. My parents came in and looked after her for a couple of hours so Trash could actually leave the hospital building: she had been in there since Thursday. We wandered down to The Exhibition on Bootham and ate piles of spiral fries.
They like to keep them in hospital for 24 hours after coming off oxygen, so assuming all is well she'll be coming home tomorrow. Sadly, the nasty cough is still there, and apparently that will take *weeks* to clear up - eek! This poor child has pretty much had a cough since the day we brought her home. I figure she'll stop coughing in the spring ... *sigh* it's only three months away.
