I'm sat on the Leeds to Middlesbrough train, heading up there for Boro's first (& possibly last) Uefa Cup match at home. I'm going to try an LJ update on the train with my P800. Here goes...
Hmmm. The web page doesn't seem to like Opera. Let's try an email update...
Nope, problems with Orange email (which *ahem* happens sometimes). Let's try sending the email again when I get home after the football match...

Friday night was a low-tech night in round at Phil & Anna's (WanoLJ) with alcohol for those that use that drug. When we arrived I was accosted by Anna's 9-year old daughter Holly, who wanted to show me her Dance Dance Revolution game on her PS. Did I want to play, she queried? Bwa ha ha! So, whilst the grown ups talked we played DDR! She knew the game better, but her 9-year old coordination wasn't as good as mine, and I just beat her. Then we sent her to bed. Ha Ha!
The other reason for visiting was to take pictures of Cobweb's kittens. Two were off to new homes on Saturday so it was the last time we would see them :-( Kitten pics on fotopic soon.
The next morning I dropped Trash off at the station (she was off to Middlesbrough), then went straight round to the York BOOK FAIR! I met [livejournal.com profile] gothgrr outside & we had a quick look round the car boot sale first. Then [livejournal.com profile] twopointedstar appeared & we went inside.
Mmmm, books! No 1974 Beano annual which I was looking out for. Lots of very expensive first editions of classic SF. Lots of lovely, really old, books. We found the same 'printing' bloke we had spoken to last year, and I bought a lovely book of font samples off him. I also acquired a wonderful book of early trashy SF artwork: large breasted women in flimsy clothing menaced by giant robots. Tentacles also featured prominently - I didnt know tentacle porn went back so far!
After a couple of hours we went down to the peace festival in Rowntree Park & mellowed out there for a while. Then I went home & got ready for Rush with [livejournal.com profile] resyk(q.v.)
The next day I was in Tesco the moment it opened to buy ingredients for an Italian cheesecake. Due to me 'not liking cheese' this was the first time I had ever made one. It came out rather well, and I discovered I can eat Marscapone cheese & tiramisu.
The food was for F1 watching at [livejournal.com profile] gothgrr's. A Honda led for ages but somehow came third behind another Ferrari 1-2. Bah!
Then it was off to the station to pick Trash up & then Rush (again).
