Working From Home
Well this is different. Usually I'm a complete office geek, stuck behind multiple monitors in my dark corner. However, today I'm trying out "working from home". I'm seeing a social worker this afternoon, so I decided not to ride over to Leeds and test out this idea. As
evie_petrol wouldn't give me a nanoseconds peace if she could actually see me, I'm hiding in the summer house with my laptop. I can get onto the house WiFi from here, end therefore onto the internet and (usually) then onto the work machines I need to access via a VPN.
It reminds me a little of my university days: one terminal using vi. Fortunately, the Unix command line was written for exactly this, so it's easy to use it in "low tech mode".
Sadly, the VPN seems to have fallen over so I've been thrown off it :-( I'm now waiting for tech support to call me back...
