Many years ago, I picked up a record by New Model Army with a song called Whitecoats on it. My experience of life to that point meant it had an immediate historical resonance for me, and I formed a notion of what the song would obviously be about before I listened to it. When I did, I was quite surprised at the lyrical content.

I love that track, bought the 7" at the time and then tried to track down the 12" with full version on, as it was unavailable on CD for some time.
